From Paper Routes to Real-Time Visibility... and How Cigo Tracker Bridges the Gap
We spoke to Masters Building Products to see how CIGO's suite of features massively transformed their delivery operations, and how that impacted their entire business for the better.
What does it look like when a well-run distribution business can't see past the warehouse door?
Masters Building Products operates across multiple locations in Florida, supplying building materials to contractors and commercial customers. Orders are managed in NetSuite. Deliveries are handled by an in-house fleet of between seven and ten drivers, dispatched daily across job sites and construction projects on a pre-loaded schedule. Orders are pulled the night before, trucks are loaded by 5pm, and drivers are on the road before most people have had breakfast.
On paper, it was a tightly run operation. But once the trucks left the yard, the visibility ended. Between NetSuite and the customer's door, there was no digital record, no real-time tracking, and no reliable way to know whether the right product had landed in the right place. The operational challenges were significant and compounding:
- Γ No digital proof of delivery
- Γ Manual dispatch with printed route maps
- Γ Delivery documentation missing from NetSuite
- Γ No way to verify what happened once a truck left the warehouse
- Γ Audit season meant digging through filing cabinets
Masters turned to CIGO Tracker. They haven't looked back.
Strong operations. A gap between NetSuite and the road.
Masters Building Products runs a tight delivery operation across multiple Florida locations. Their days involve an in-house fleet, daily dispatch, building materials moving to contractors and job sites on a fixed schedule. Orders live in NetSuite. Everything runs on time.
After the trucks left, the data trail ran cold. Proof of delivery meant a signed packing slip in a filing cabinet. Customer disputes were hard to defend. Annual audits meant days spent pulling physical paperwork. And with a new location on the horizon, none of that was going to get easier.
CIGO Tracker closed the gap. A direct NetSuite integration, built with custom code around Masters' specific workflows, means every delivery is now documented, timestamped, and synced before the driver has left the job site. Audits that used to consume a week now don't. Disputes that couldn't be won now are.
"Both companies turned to CIGO Tracker. Neither looked back."
The Problem
Proof of delivery was paper-based and rarely made it back into NetSuite. There was no consistent system for capturing delivery confirmation. When auditors or customers needed documentation, finding it meant digging through physical filing cabinets.
The Solution
CIGO integrated directly with NetSuite using custom code built for Masters' unique workflows. Drivers follow mandatory, step-by-step processes on their tablets. PODs, including delivery photos, sync automatically to NetSuite the moment a job is marked complete.
The Result
Annual audits went from a filing-cabinet nightmare to a straightforward process. Customer damage disputes were successfully defended using photographic evidence. Driver performance became measurable, and Masters is now scaling to a new location without adding operational complexity.
For most distribution businesses, the job ends when the delivery is handed over.
The driver moves on, the customer takes possession, and whatever happened on that route, good or bad, rarely makes it back into the system. That silence is costly.
"It seems very analog now when I think about how we were doing it"
For Masters, the challenge was a structural gap causing a ton of inconvenience.
The distance between what NetSuite knew and what was actually happening on the road was wide, and every day it stayed open, the operational and financial risk grew.
Before CIGO, logistics generated a routing map using an online tool, printed it out, and handed it to each driver along with their packing slips. If a product was pulled incorrectly and loaded onto the wrong truck, nobody would know until the delivery failed at the customer's door. Drivers didn't necessarily recognise products by sight the way warehouse staff did. By the time the mistake was caught, it was already a problem.
Proof of delivery, when it existed at all, was a customer signature on a packing slip. Sometimes those came back and were uploaded into NetSuite. Most of the time they didn't, and that inconsistency came back to haunt the business every year at audit time.
NetSuite wasn't built to follow your truck.
Enterprise resource planning systems are designed to manage what happens inside your business, things like inventory, orders, invoicing, financials. They do that well. But the moment a delivery leaves your warehouse, you've crossed into territory ERP wasn't designed to cover. That last mile, the handoff, the signature, the photo, the route, exists outside the system. For most distribution businesses, it stays there.
That gap is where liability lives.
A damaged-goods dispute without photographic evidence at the point of delivery is a dispute you're likely to lose. An audit that requires pulling signed packing slips from physical storage is an audit that consumes days of staff time and creates real exposure. A driver who underperforms on a route you can't see is a problem you can't document, and can't act on.
The businesses that feel this most acutely are the ones that have everything else right, the ERP, the fleet, the process, but nothing connecting the two at the moment it matters most. That's exactly where Masters was. And it's exactly the problem CIGO Tracker is built to solve.
"We can run all the reports we want in NetSuite all day long, but if at the end of the day there's a problem with the service that we're providing to customers at delivery, then the NetSuite reports are inaccurate."

Audit Compliance
Every delivery is a potential audit item. Without automated, centralized documentation flowing back into NetSuite, compliance becomes a manual scramble, and a significant liability for any business with investors or external reporting requirements.
Dispute Protection
Customers claim damage. Deliveries go wrong. Without photographic POD captured at the point of delivery and synced to NetSuite, there is no way to protect the business from false or inflated claims.
Operational Control
Knowing where your drivers are, what they're delivering, and how they're performing isn't a luxury. For a fleet running seven to ten vehicles daily across multiple locations, it is the foundation of a well-managed operation.
Scalability
Opening a new location should not mean recreating manual processes from scratch. A system that connects dispatch to delivery to documentation enables growth without proportional increases in headcount or administrative overhead.
How Cigo Tracker turns every completed delivery into consistent growth
Automated POD Syncing
Before CIGO, proof of delivery lived on paper. Packing slips were signed at the customer's door and often never made it back into NetSuite. For Masters, this created two compounding problems: a compliance risk every time an auditor requested documentation, and no ability to defend the business against disputed or inflated damage claims.
CIGO changed that by making proof of delivery automatic. The moment a driver marks a job as complete, the delivery confirmation, including photographs of the goods at the point of handover, syncs directly into NetSuite. No manual upload. No missing paperwork. No filing cabinet.
The timing is what makes it defensible. Photos are taken before the customer takes possession of the goods. For Masters, whose customers offload their own product from the truck, this became a critical legal and commercial tool.
Driver Accountability
Visibility was the capability Masters had always needed but never had. Before CIGO, there was no reliable way to know whether a driver was on route, handling goods correctly, or following the right process. If something went wrong, it was discovered after the fact, often too late to act.
CIGO changed that by making every job a structured, enforced sequence. Drivers cannot skip steps. They have to follow the route, use the tablet, and take photographs at each stage. Managers see everything in real time. Patterns emerge quickly.
Masters also used review data from CIGO's post-delivery feedback tool to create a driver of the month programme, giving every team member a tangible reason to take pride in their performance.
Route Optimisation
Before CIGO, Masters' logistics team generated daily routes using a third-party tool, printed them out, and handed them to drivers along with their packing slips. It worked, but it was entirely manual, offered no real-time adjustment, and left no digital record of how the day actually unfolded.
With CIGO, routing is handled through the platform. Drivers receive their routes on their tablets and follow a guided, step-by-step process from first delivery to last. Fleet efficiency improved. Driver productivity went up. And the gap between what was planned and what was executed became, for the first time, measurable.
Operational Consistency
Masters operates across multiple Florida locations, each with its own logistics department. Before CIGO, the process was standardized in principle but inconsistent in practice. Getting every driver, at every location, to follow the same steps every day was a matter of training and trust, not system enforcement.
CIGO's custom integration, built specifically around Masters' NetSuite workflows, including their RF smart scanning system, made consistency a function of the platform, not the person. The rollout took approximately two months, with a phased approach to training and tablet deployment. By April, every driver, every truck, and every location was fully live.
Stronger documentation, faster decisions, higher accountability.
The changes Masters saw were visible, measurable, and felt across the business: not just in delivery confirmation rates, but in how the team manages drivers, responds to customers, and prepares for growth.
The documentation win was the goal. But it was not the only win.
Driver Accountability
When every job creates a documented record, photos, timestamps, completed steps, standards rise across the team. At Masters, visibility into driver behaviour led directly to staffing decisions that would not have been possible without the data. Drivers who were consistently generating damage reports or negative customer feedback were identified. Those who excelled could be recognised.
Audit Confidence
The first audit after CIGO was measurably different from every year before it. With PODs automatically synced to NetSuite, auditors could access signed delivery confirmations on demand. This cut out a lot of scrambling and guesswork, which is a universal issue for fleet managers. For a business that had been dreading audit season for years, that alone was transformative.
Dispute Resolution
Photos taken at the moment of delivery, before the customer touches the goods, became a legal and commercial tool. Masters can now respond to damage claims with timestamped photographic evidence taken at the kerbside, shifting the burden of proof back to the customer when the damage occurred after handover.
Stronger Team Culture
Review and performance data from CIGO became the foundation for a monthly driver recognition programme. Drivers now compete for a 'driver of the month' reward based on customer feedback scored inside the platform. Recognition is data-driven, and the team has a tangible incentive to take pride in every delivery.
Scalability Without Complexity
Opening a new location no longer means building new manual processes from scratch. The CIGO and NetSuite integration scales with the business. Masters recently made a reduction in headcount while simultaneously preparing to open a new location, a decision only possible because the reporting data showed exactly where changes needed to be made.
Performance Becomes Measurable
Combining NetSuite reporting with CIGO data gives leadership a complete picture of the operation: expenses, driver performance, customer experience, and service quality at the point of delivery. Neither system could deliver that picture alone. Together, they give Masters the analytics to make decisions with confidence.
Real-time delivery visibility does not happen by accident. It happens when your systems are finally connected.
If you leave it to drivers or office staff to bridge the gap between your ERP and real-world delivery, inconsistency is inevitable. And inconsistency means disputes, audit risk, and blind spots in performance.
Your ERP stops at the warehouse door unless you build a bridge
NetSuite can tell you what was ordered and what was invoiced. Without a connected delivery platform, it cannot tell you what was actually delivered, to whom, in what condition, and when. That gap is where disputes, audit failures, and operational blind spots live.
Documentation needs to be automatic, not aspirational
If collecting proof of delivery relies on someone remembering to upload a file, it will not happen consistently. Automation removes the dependency on human memory and makes compliance a function of the system, not the individual.
The moment of delivery is the most important moment to capture
Photos and confirmations taken at the point of handover, before the customer takes possession of the goods, are the only documentation that holds up in a dispute. That window is short, and it cannot be recreated after the fact.
Driver accountability follows from visibility
When managers can see delivery performance in real time, patterns emerge quickly. Underperformance can be addressed before it becomes a problem. Excellence can be recognised, rewarded, and built on.
Fleet software is a financial and legal tool as much as an operational one
Route optimisation, dispute resolution, automated billing triggers, and audit-ready documentation all have measurable financial value. The case for investing in this technology is both operational efficiency and risk management.
