After months of hard work, we are very proud to announce that Cigo Tracker is officially SOC 2 Type 1 compliant.
Thanks to our partnership with Laika, a compliance management platform, we were able to achieve compliance to ensure the security of our platform for our customers.
What is SOC 2 Type 1?
For some of you, those terms might not mean much. However, it is a pretty big deal for Cigo and its customers since this security attestation is proof of our reliability concerning data security.
SOC 2 Type 1 is a report that asserts an organization’s compliance with a certain security standard that evaluates how customers’ data should be managed. The audit is based on a set of criteria established by the Auditing Standard Board of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
There are five Trust Services Criteria (TSP); our audit was principally based on the following TSPs most relevant to our business:
- Security
- Availability
- Confidentiality
What does it mean?
SOC 2 Type 1 asserts our capacity to ensure data security on our platform, manage data and system availability, and guarantee its overall confidentiality.
As a delivery management software that handles important amounts of data everyday on its platform, it seemed essential for us to achieve this security attestation and guarantee our customers’ peace of mind.
How did we get SOC 2 Type 1 compliance?
In order to be recognized as SOC 2 Type 1, we had to go through a rigorous audit to make sure we met every criteria of the security standard.
Achieving this compliance was a priority for Cigo. We wanted our existing and future customers to have complete trust in Cigo’s platform. It is important to us that our users feel 100% safe when importing their data and storing it in our system.
In other words, you can rest easy, your data is closely guarded.
